Twitter has recently acquired the very popular tweetdeck and is pretty much killing it off. Yahoo did similar things when they purchased the hugely popular delicious and flickr just watched them both die due to their neglect.
From the acquistion announcement:
Posterous engineers, product managers and others will join our teams working on several key initiatives that will make Twitter even better
OK, so all the great posterous devs will now be working on twitter stuff. Basically posterous is now in maintenance mode.
We’ll give users ample notice if we make any changes to the service
Great. That’s a nice way of saying when twitter is sick of maintaining posterous they’ll shut it down you’ll give me an email
